The museum was reopened in July 2002, presenting a collection of ethnographic and anthropologic content, with the sea and its activities as the subject of its collections: From objects from the canning factory to others linked to ancestral trades, such as traditional boat building, fish salting. It also contains a very valuable book collection of exceptional quality, from which we can highlight the incunabula section. The collection is completed with a small series of nautical instruments, models of historic and traditional boats and a good number of etchings of marine scenes.

In 1972, the Reais Fábricas de Sargadelos were declared Historic and Artistic Site. The factories were established in 18th century, by Antonio Raimúndez Ibáñez, Marquis of Sargadelos. The Reais Fábricas de Sargadelos are considered the first integrated steel working company in Spain. Weapons and ammunitions for the Spanish Army were actually manufactured in the factory. During 19th century, this activity coexisted with an innovative factory of crockery which introduced in Spain patterns and decorations with strong English connections at that time. The Reais Fábricas production halted in 1875.

The preserved remains for the old complex are the blast furnaces, the reservoir and channel - today turned into the beautiful lover's promenade, the Pazo of the Marquis and the Administrative Building (which houses the museum) The museum, which shows the evolution of the production of the Reais Fábricas de Sargadelos, and the rest of the complex offer a tour through the milestones of Galician industrial history.

The MUNCYT is present in several cities. The4th of May 2012, the Prince and Princess of Asturias opened the headquarters in A Coruña - at the Prisma de Cristal building. The building was designed by Victoria Acivro and Anxo Alonso. Outside, the construction is a glass cube; inside the surprise comes when the visitor realizes the two-in-one building. A large concrete tree houses the museum services (offices, library, events halls, catering hall, and workshops). The space in between the giant tree and the glass cube hosts the exhibition halls, in different heights and configurations. The unique feature consists in being able to behold every hall from different perspectives.

The museum present different exhibition spaces fitting large pieces, such as the front part of the Boeing 747 landing gear that brought the Guernica to Spain and donated from Iberia. Another large element is the assembly of the first particle accelerator designed and made by the Nuclear Energy Board in 1957.

It also hosts the marble remains of Santa Eulalia de Bóveda (4th century), the remains of the Saamasas gate (9th century), the enamelled medieval bronzes, the Romanesque cross of Meira, the Crucificado de Loio or the Virxe Aleitador from the Fusco chapel in Lalín.

The will of creating an art museum in A Coruña rose at the end of 19th century. However, the museum was not established until 1922 and opened for the general public until 1947. After several temporary emplacements, in 1995 was opened the present new building - designed by the Galician architect Manuel Gallego Jorreto. Located in the old plot of the Capuchin Sisters Convent, the new building is born from the old construction made by Fernando Casas y Novoa in 18th century.

This sacred art museum, one of the most important in Galicia, occupies some of the chambers of the Saint Clare convent in Monforte de Lemos. The convent was founded in 1622 by Catarina de la Cerda y Sandoval, wife to Pedro Fernández de Castro, VII Count of Lemos. Catarina was ordained in this convent once she was widowed; This patronage is of vital importance, given that the collection houses part of the great artistic legacy from both of these nobles. The legacy includes magnificent paintings, sculptures, ivories, textiles and sumptuary objects (especially reliquaries). All these pieces were gathered by the Counts of Lemos during their viceroyalty in Naples from 1610 to 1616.
