Tambre´s river

Tambre´s river

The Tambre is a coastal river that crosses Galicia, in northwestern Spain

The Tambre Valley, of great geographical and historical importance, leaves its north with an extensive and genuine region of wild and varied coasts, composed of regions as individualized as Bergantiños and the lands of Soneira and Xallas, Finisterre open to N. and O. Atlantic Formed by sources of Las Pías and El Bocelo in the half natural lake, half artificial of the Sobrado monastery, it crosses without deepening its cancers to the Sigüeiro bridge, by regions of Mesonzo, Boimil, Anceos, Céltigos, Pino, receiving by Samo and Maruzo, tributaries of the right, currents of the lands of Messía and Frades. From the landscape of Ponte Sigüeiro, passing the general road from Vigo to La Coruña through Santiago, and the well-known Castro Nemenzo, the river begins to deepen its banks, and to the Maceira bridge — the bridges of the Tambre have unique significance in history from Galicia — by Date, Grixoa, Portomouro — another bridge — and Troitosende, absorbs waters of the regions of Ordes (Ordenes) and Tordoya through the Lengüelle; by other streams those of Trazo and region dominated by the Towers of Lestrobe, and by the Dubra that joins in Portomouro to those of the valley of the same name (Buxán, Portomeiro, Benvibre). In this one, the regions of Enfesta and Ames flow to the Tambre on the left, whose hills and reliefs crowned with hermitages form the NO horizon. from Santiago de Compostela. From Ponte Maceira past the valley of Barcala (Negreira, Ordoesto, Baña), the most beautiful and green of the conjugates with the Tambre, the soft loins of Villestro and the landscapes of the Brión skyline where the house of Altamira erected its towers, the Tambre, between high banks, cutting the slopes of Cornado, Ró, Loureiro, Arzón and estechado by the Xarpal mount, is launched in impetuous rapids taken advantage of by the great power plant to which it gives its name, to the rest of the calm estuary under the old pillars of the bridge of D. Alonso or Nafonso, touched by the tide of the Noya estuary.

The Fragas do Eume

The Fragas do Eume is a natural park situated in north-west Spain.

The varied and extensive valley of the Eume (73 km) . The sources of the river ascend to the foot of the Xistral, not far from the Cadramón Peak; that is to say, they reach the granitic islet of the Viveiro region, and the upper course of the river deepens into syllabic and Cambrian lands along its winter route, leaving the Sierra de la Carba to the south, the northern border of the Terra Chá. The high deep valley flows into the alluvial basin of the Pontes de García Rodríguez with remarkable landscape variation. Receive by the tributary Fray Bermuz waters of the Sierra de La Loba and Mount Moncoso, and to gain the base level again sink its valley into lathes, as dominated by the ancient monastery of Caaveiro, to reach the foot of the towers of Andrade the long bridge of Pontesdeume in estuary landscape of harmonious and expressive composition.
